Medieval
Falconry with Huxley's Falconry
is an ancient sport of using a trained bird of prey to hunt. The Sport
is over 4000 years old and still practiced in much of England as well
as across the globe. In the medieval period falconry was not only a
way of providing food for the table but also a way of displaying your
status within society. Q kestrel for example would be kept by a knave
whereas a Gyr falcon would be kept only by Kings and Emperors. Women
of nobility would often own a Merlin.
If you are planning a medieval event
you may be thinking about a falconry demonstration!. Huxley's can
provide a display or talk with full attire! Pictures are hopefully
coming very soon!
